Kalikavu (Malappuram): A charred human body was discovered in a private grove located in Pottankadu valley. The body has been reduced to a skeletal state, indicating that it is likely over a month old.

The skeletal remains were found in a farm situated in Manjalppara, Adakkakund. The shed within the grove has been completely burnt. The area is primarily used for cultivating areca nut and cocoa, with the harvest already concluded. Consequently, the grove remains uninhabited.

Workers who were tending to a nearby orchard discovered the charred shed and skeletal remains. The Karuvarakundu police, under the leadership of Inspector CK Abdul Nasser, have initiated preliminary investigations into the matter.

On Sunday, at 6 pm, the forensic department conducted an inspection at the valley. The initial assessment suggests that the deceased individual is male, although a conclusive determination can only be made after receiving the test results. A portion of the bones has been collected for forensic examination.
