Kochi: The Crime Branch imposed attempt to murder charges against MLA Eldhose Kunnapillil, who has been absconding after a case of sexual assault was lodged against him. Provisions under sections 307 and 354 B were charged against him. Hence, he is unlikely to obtain anticipatory bail in the case.

The investigating team could not nab the accused even after seven days since he is absconding and remained incommunicable.

Crime Branch had collected evidences against Eldhose Kunnapillil from the house of the complainant at Pettah in Thiruvananthapuram. Police recovered a T-Shirt of the MLA from here. The evidence will be subjected to a scientific examination soon. In her complaint, the woman, who is a teacher at a private school, claimed that the MLA sexually assaulted her multiple times at seven different locations. The evidence collection at these alleged locations is underway.

The Crime Branch will raid MLA’s house in Perumbavoor on Tuesday as the complainant had informed that she was abused from the residence of the accused too. Evidence collection proceeded in a guest house and a hotel at Kovalam on the previous days.
