Kochi: Two policemen suffered stab injuries while attempting to arrest two chain snatchers in Edapally here on Saturday. Traffic police SI Arul and ASI Reji are the ones injured.
The incident happened on Saturday at noon. Tamil Nadu natives Kannan and Sai Raj attacked the cops while fleeing from a crime scene.
The cops chased them after they snatched a gold chain from a woman and tried to flee from the scene on a bike.
The accused tried to hide behind a building. The cops were attacked using a broken beer bottle when officials attempted to subdue them with help of locals.
The cops were later admitted to a hospital. Meanwhile, the Palarivattom police arrested the accused for robbery and attack on cops.
