Thiruvananthapuram: Union government will never give the final nod for the Silverline semi high-speed rail project, MoS V Muraleedharan said here on Sunday.
He slammed the Chief Minister and LDF for proceeding with the Social Impact Survey and termed the project as corrupted.
CM and his party know very well that the project will never obtain the Centre’s nod. But they are proceeding with the sole purpose of snatching off commission, he alleged.
"The agency has noted that the social impact assessment cannot be conducted with the surging protest against the project. However, the government refuses to step back from the project. Hence, it is assumed that the interests of the public are not the priority of the government," the BJP leader said.
If the survey cannot be done, they should drop it. The union government will never give assent to the project. There is no need for doubt in it. As the government already accepted 'commission', they are staging a drama to show that they are taking efforts for the project, he added.
