Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan stated that the education department had forwarded letters to the Ministry of Human Resources and the Minister for Information and Broadcasting requesting permission to include KITE Victers channel in DTH connections in order to ensure the online classes reach all students. However, no favourable response in this matter has been received yet, he said in the press meet held here on Thursday.
After the education department, the KITE and the subscribers demanded continuously, Victers channel is now available in DTH connections. The state government extends gratitude to the DTH service providers Dish TV D2H, Sun Direct, Tata Sky and Airtel who supported Kerala during the crisis, the chief minister said.
Victers started telecasting in two channels in Kerala Vision Digital TV. The Cable TV Operators Association has decided to give free connection to the houses of students who have financially low background. Various organisations and institutions have come forward to arrange facilities for those who are unable to attend online classes, the chief minister said.
