Centre approves Coimbatore-Kochi industrial corridor project
Thiruvananthapuram: The central government has decided to extend the Chennai-Bengaluru industrial corridor to Coimbatore and Kochi. The project will be part of the National Industrial Corridor.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan clarified that the central government informed the state about its decision to develop the Coimbatore-Kochi industrial corridor.
Earlier, Kerala was not included when the union government announced industrial corridors in various states as part of the National Industrial Corridor. The Kerala government had objected the omission.
Pinarayi Vijayan stated that the central government’s decision to include Kerala in the corridor project was a result of the state government’s continued effort.
