Thiruvananthapuram: CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran stated that his party wants the culprits in the gold smuggling case to be brought to light by the central agencies. He also said that CPI had demanded the removal of the IT Secretary soon after the Sprinklr controversy came out.

The Chief Minister’s Office should be beyond suspicion in such matters. The chief minister has repeated that the case will be investigated and that adequate action will be taken. The major issue is about the smuggling of gold and not whether the CM’s office is involved in the incident.

CPI had filed a complaint against IT secretary as he made a contract by keeping the cabinet in the dark. Kanam said that in the complaint, they sought the removal of the IT secretary and askd to cancel the contract.

The accused has been removed from his position. The investigation should be continued. Kanam also made it clear that he trusts the CM and the government. He added that all appointments related to the government should be done in a transparent way.
