Kannur: Income tax department officials inspected the Vaidekam Ayurveda Healing Village in Kannur associated with the Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader EP Jayarajan on Thursday afternoon.
The resort situated at Morazha here was in the news recently due to allegations raised against Jayarajan over providing political patronage to the resort. His wife Indira is the chairperson of the resort. Their son also has an investment there. CPM had set up a committee to look into the allegations levelled against Jayarajan.
The IT department has not made any statements regarding the purpose of the raid. However, reports quoting some officials said that the agency was conducting a routine check.
