Kochi: People who install CCTV cameras for safety should be alert. Any cyber expert can hack the cameras and manipulate the visuals. The hackers manage to get access as the customers continue using the temporary password given by the CCTV camera companies.

The CCTV cameras connected with internet are more prone to hacking. Some people tend to use the same password given by the companies while some others use their phone number, name and other weak passwords. They also give similar password to their WiFi network too.

With this, the hackers manage to hack the CCTV camera system and remove or leak the visuals easily. Some families install to monitor their children. So, if the cameras are hacked, the hackers will get access to the visuals inside the house too.

The cyber experts warn that people should secure their CCTV cameras and networks with strong passwords to prevent hacking. Otherwise, the visuals can be misused for cyber crimes and this may lead to other threats.
