CBI seeks report on P Jayarajan's medical condition
Kannur: The CBI on Saturday sought a report on the medical condition of CPM leader P Jayarajan who was admitted to the Pariyaram Medical College Cell on Friday.
The CBI also asked the doctor who treated Jayarajan to appear before the agency on Monday and to submit all the medical reports till date.
The CBI has sought the medical report as a precursor to his arrest. CBI began moves to take Jayarajan into custody some time back itself. The agency plans to take Jayarajan into custody and question him from February 16 to 19.
Jayarajan was shifted to the Pariyaram medical college on Friday as medical examinations revealed he was suffering from cardiac ailments.
Jayarajan first underwent medical examination at Kannur district hospital and was sent to Kannur Central jail, from where he was shifted to the medical college.
Jayarajan was undergoing treatment for 23 days preceding his surrender at the court on Friday. The court had rejected the application filed by Jayarajan's advocate requesting to shift Jayarajan to the hospital as he had health problems. However, the court directed the Jail Superintendent to decide the hospital where Jayarajan could be treated.
