CBI finds medical report of Jayarajan tampered
Kannur: The CBI will be conducting an investigation against those who had tried to help CPM district secretary P Jayarajan in the Kathiroor Manoj murder case. The CBI has found the medical report of Jayarajan to be tampered. The copy of the report has been released by Mathrubhumi online.
The CBI has taken possession of the medical report from the Kannur Jail superintendent. The central jail superintendent and the medical officer of the district hospital were interrogated on Monday by the DySP of CBI Hari Omprakash.
The medical report of Jayarajan was tampered to ensure that the CPM leader continued to receive treatment at Pariyaram itself. The report from the district hospital had initially advised Jayarajan to be referred to the Govt Medical College hospital. It was tampered and Jayarajan was advised to be referred to advanced cardiac centre. After Jayarajan was remanded, he was subjected to medical examination at the Kannur district hospital.
The CBI detected the tampering at the Kannur central jail. Following this, the probe team visited the district hospital and interrogated the doctor. The medical officer informed that the report was changed under the direction of a doctor who had examined Jayarajan.
