Kochi: The Crime Branch collected voice sample of Thrissur BJP leader Ullas Babu in connection with the actress attack case. In a forensic examination, the Crime Branch obtained an audio message of Ullas Babu from a mobile phone of Dileep. The audio message which was deleted has been revived during forensic test.

The investigation team informed that the audio message purportedly sent by Ullas has references about the actress attack case and trial court.

Ullas Babu, who had contested during the last Assembly election from Wadakkanchery, is a member of BJP state committee. His audio samples were collected from Chitranjali studio in Kochi.

The Crime Branch could not identify the sound of Ullas in the initial phase of investigation based on the audio clips. One of the audio messages recovered from Dileep’s phone had mentioned a saint and the investigation team extended the probe to find this person. It was from the saint that the Crime Branch received information regarding Ullas Babu. An investigation has been rolled out to find the relationship between Dileep and Ullas.

This crucial turn of events in the case surfaced when the Crime Branch have only a few days left to submit the reinvestigation report on Friday. Meanwhile, it has been alleged that more charges were imposed against Dileep in relation with the case. The trial court had directed to submit the report within Friday for resuming trial on Monday. Prosecution has informed the trial court that the report will be submitted within the time frame allotted by the High Court.
