Idukki: IUML party chief Sayyid Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal has informed that he has cautioned its leader and Eranad MLA PK Basheer over racist remarks against former minister MM Mani. Thangal pointed out IUML never endorse the practice of mocking a person over his or her complexion.
On the other day, Basheer had mocked Mani over his dark complexion. The insensitive remarks were made during the Wayanad campaign tour of Thangal.
Reacting to the remark, MM Mani said that Basheer’s idiocy is an extension of IUML’s idiocy. He added that he has a good bond with Basheer and will ask why he did something like this. “Many of my fans are slamming him. I have nothing else to say,” he said.
Meanwhile, Thangal said that action will taken against KNA Khader for participating in an event organized by RSS after examining his explanation.
