Kozhikode: A case has been registered against Hakeem Faizy, general secretary of the Coordination of Islamic Colleges (CIC). Samastha had filed a complaint against Faizy alleging that he tried to create riots among the organisation workers through social media.

The Thenhipalam police registered a case against the CIC general secretary and 12 others based on his complaint.

The allegations against Faizy also include spreading false propaganda against Samastha through social media and defaming leaders. Faizy was expelled from Samastha citing these reasons.

The decision to file a complaint was taken at a meeting of the Samastha coordination committee, a few weeks ago.
