Pathanamthitta: The financial fraud case against BJP Leader Kummanam Rajasekharan is going to be settled out of court. Complainant Harikrishnan withdrew his complaint against him.

According to the case, money was swindled from Aranmula native Harikrishnan Namboothiri offering him to make an investor in a Palakkad-headquartered company. Aranmula police registered the FIR making Kummanam the fourth accused in the case.

As per the complaint, Rs 28 lakh was swindled. Rs 4 lakh was returned already. The remaining Rs 24 lakh was received through bank account, stated Harikrishnan in the request to withdraw the complaint.

Kollamkodu native Vijayan and Praveen had collected Rs 35 lakh from Aranmula native Harikrishnan for establishing Bharat Bio Polymer Factory in Palakkad. However, the factory was not set up and the money was not returned to Harikrishnan.

Following this, Harikrishnan contacted the party leadership and Rs 6.25 lakh was returned to him following the intervention of BJP NRI cell convener Harikumar. Later, Harikrishnan complained to the police as he did not receive the remaining amount even after 2 years.

Harikrishnan stated in his complaint that Kummanam tried to convince him that it was a good enterprise. Nine persons have been named accused in the case. Kummanam Rajasekharan’s former PA Praveen is the first accused. His partner Vijayan, his family members, manager and BJP NRI cell convener Harikumar are also named as accused.

Meanwhile, Kummanam rejected the allegations and stated that the case was charged with political intentions. He made it clear that he has no connection with the financial deals and added that the police did not seek any clarification from him before charging the case.
