Case against parents over child falling off moving jeep
Thodupuzha: The police registered a case against the parents after their child fell off a moving jeep at Rajamala in Idukki.
The Munnar police registered a case under non-bailable sections of Juvenile Justice Act against the parents for negligently handling the child. The parents are responsible for the safety of the child but they failed to ensure it, police have found.
Although they have registered a non-bailable case against the parents the police are not likely to take immediate action, it is learned. Further action will be taken only after examining all the aspects of the incident.
The parents told the police that the child’s mother had been taking some medicines and hence fell asleep. Police are examining this.
The child rights commission had sought a report from the district Collector and police chief in connection with the incident.
