Koottanad: Palakkad’s Thirumittacode witnessed a bizarre accident on Wednesday afternoon when a car rammed the bikes kept on display in front of a vehicle showroom. 10 new bikes were damaged in the accident that happened in front of City Autocraft bike showroom near AUP School Irumbakassery.
The accident happened around 4:00 PM. Rayamangalam native Muhammadali (also known as Mani) along with his family members were on the way in a car after a hospital visit. The car lost control and hit the bikes in front of the showroom.
Normally, salespersons or prospective customers would be present near the vehicles. Surprisingly, during the time of accident, there was nobody near the vehicles avoiding casualties.
Meanwhile, the collision damaged the front side of the car and doors. However, the people inside the car sustained minor injuries. Apart from showroom bikes, another bike parked nearby too got damaged.
The loss estimated due to the accident is around Rs 4 lakhs. Police have initiated further procedures.
