Police arrest lorry driver who caused Ramanattukara accident that claimed 2 lives

Kozhikode: Police informed the accident which claimed the lives of a couple at Vayalkkara near Ramanattukara was caused by the negligence of the driver who drove the truck in an inebriated state. Police have arrested the truck driver Mannarkkad native Harish on the grounds of involuntary manslaughter.

Ramanattukara Accident
The goods lorry driven by Harish hit a car and auto-rickshaw in the evening of Thursday. The driver was on the run after the accident. But police could nab him soon after the incident. The car was completely smashed in the accident and got trapped under the lorry. It was pulled out of the lorry using a crane.

Madavoor natives Krishnankutty (55) and wife Sudha (45) were killed in the accident that was reported at around 5 pm on Thursday.

Their car met with the accident while returning after dropping the youngest son Abhijith in Ernakulam where he studies. Their other son Arun (21) and his friend Ali who drove the car were admitted to the Medical college.

Anwar (44) and Sameera (38), who were travelling in a goods auto-rickshaw were also admitted here in critical condition.
