Kanchana
Sreekandapuram (Kochi): A woman was killed in a road mishap when a car collided with a scooter in front of Sreekandapuram Govt Higher Secondary School on Tuesday afternoon. The deceased was identified as C V Kanchana (45) of Chuzhali who is a collection agent at Sreekandapuram SC Development Cooperative Society.
The car which came from Thaliparamba lost control and hit a bike parked on the roadside and then crashed onto a scooter in which Kanchana was travelling. The scooter was completely damaged. Kanchana was taken to hospital immediately but her life could not be saved.
She was the CPM Thekkemoola branch member and area executive of ‘Balasangham’. Her husband is ME Balakrishnan and children are Jishnu and Vaishnav. Dijina is her daughter-in-law.
The body after autopsy will be brought home by1.30 pm on Wednesday and will be kept for public homage in Thekkemoola Chenthara arts and sports club. The cremation will be at 3 pm in Chengalayi Panchayat crematorium.
