Captain K Raveendran dies at 79

New Delhi: Retired Squadron Leader K Raveendran (79) died at his residence in Delhi’s Gulmohar Park. The Kannur native was son of PN Krishnan and Lakshmi.

The first English news reader and Major General Rajarathinam’s daughter Neethi Raveendran is his wife. Raveendran served as a Captain in Air India after retiring from the Air Force.

He is a former director of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). He has also worked at Kingfisher and SpiceJet.

Raveendran was part of the three-member committee that granted an operating licence to the Kozhikode airport.
