Thiruvananthapuram: Heated discussions by political leaders are up on the allegations that parties are secretly supporting each other in the election. When CPM raises allegations about UDF-BJP link, Congress points out fielding BJP candidates in six constituencies to oppose this.
Ramesh Chennithala highlighted the NDA candidates in Kottayam, Aranmula, Cherthala, Mavelikkara, Kalliasseri and Kuttanad seats. The opposition is sticking to the allegation of R Balashankar that CPM entered into a deal in Chengannur and Aranmula and BJP in Konni.
Former CPI leader Thambi Mettuthara has been fielded in Kuttanad by BDJS. Also P S Jyothis, who is a BDJS candidate in Cherthala, was CPM Maruthorvattam local committee member and former president of Thanneermukkam panchayat. BJP candidate in Mavelikkara K Sanju was CPM Chunakkara local committee member.
In Kottayam, CPM local committee member in Poonjar and Mahila Association district committee member Minerva Mohan became BJP candidate. The BJP candidate in Kalliasseri is an old SFI activist. Biju Mathew, BJP candidate in Aranmula, is a former local leader of CPM. All these were pointed out by the Congress.
Meanwhile, CPM is resisting the allegations highlighting former Congress leaders Pandalam Prathapan who is BJP candidate in Adoor, G Raman Nair in Changanassery and K S Radhakrishnan in Thrippunithura.
