Alappuzha: A complaint was lodged over a fraudulent company attending the job fair organized by the government. It was alleged that a private company hired employees to sell surgical instruments but forced them to sell chilli powder and coriander powder by visiting houses.
Following this, some of the employees quit the job forcing many others too from joining the company.
The Palakkad-based company selected candidates for the sale of surgical instruments.
However, they were given the job of selling chilli powder and utensils at various houses. The company also forced them to leave their mobile phones at the office before going out to sell products. They were told it was part of training.
A Kuttanad native, who worked for a few days in the company, quit his job and returned home after being asked to do the same. The incident came to light after the young man shared the information with others.
The company hired candidates from a job fair hosted by Kerala Academy For Skill Excellence, District Administration, and other government departments as part of the 'SANKALP India' initiative on April 24 in Alappuzha. The authorities said that the complaint is being investigated and action will be taken based on it.
