Kozhikode: A complaint has arisen that the CPM leadership engaged in a foul play and quarantined the UDF candidate in ward 15 of Thalakulathur making fake COVID positive certificate. The Congress leadership alleged that their candidate Sajini Devaraj went through the bad experience.

Sajini's son had tested positive for COVID on November 11. Even though they had no facilities at home to quarantine him, the authorities did not allow him to move to the COVID centre. Later, he was shifted to COVID centre by November 13. When other family members were subjected to COVID test on November 20, only Sajini tested positive.

The positive report came after collecting fluids at Thalakulathur CHC and conducting RTPCR test at Kozhikode Beach Hospital. However, when they later conducted antigen, antibody and RTPCR tests at other labs in Kozhikode on November 22, all the results were negative.

With this, the Congress leaders alleged that the CPM workers influenced the CHC and made the fake COVID positive report.

KPCC vice president T Siddique alleged that the CPM leaders did not shift Sajini's son to COVID centre in order to make her infected. The UDF added that they would file complaints to the Human Rights Commission over this issue.

Sajini said that she just recovered from some other serious health problems. But she was shifted to COVID centre on the basis of a fake campaign. She added that if something happens to her, the CPM would be responsible for it. As the ward has been a stronghold of CPM for many years, they intentionally planned this to keep me away from the campaign, Sajini said.

However, the CPM rejected the allegations.
