Kottayam: MLA Mani C Kappan is firm on not handing over Pala seat in the upcoming Assembly election.

The NCP leader stated that he will contest in Pala and that he has no plans to contest from Kuttanad. The seat cannot be given to a defeated party, Mani C Kappan stated.

“I won from Pala after contesting the polls. I can’t swim, so I am not going to Kuttanad. I will contest from Pala itself. The LDF meeting will be held on January 27. I will attend the meeting. I contested from Pala four times and finally won,” he said.

“NCP is not in such dire straits to hand over the sitting seat to the party which we defeated. The meeting held by A K Saseendran faction in Thiruvananthapuram was an extraordinary move,” he added.

There are reports that Mani C Kappan will meet the NCP national leadership in Mumbai on Sunday. He is likely to inform the leadership that a decision regarding Pala seat and change of political front should be taken without delay.
