Calicut University Professor booked on charges of sexual abuse


Thenjipalam: Police have booked a case against a faculty of Calicut University for sexual abuse based on a complaint by a student. The professor was suspended by the vice-chancellor in wake of the incident. The complaint states that the assistant professor had made sexually explicit talks and sent messages to the student.

A research student of the university filed a complaint with the Thenhipalam police against the Assistant Professor Dr Haris Kottampuzha. Earlier the student had lodged a complaint detailing the incidents to the university committee. The detailed complaint mentions the issues from the month of October 2020. This report has been transferred to the police for further investigation.
