Thiruvananthapuram: The meeting of the CPM state committee criticised ministers in Kerala Cabinet for not taking effective decisions. It argued that ministers often back away from taking decisive actions leaving the Chief Minister to take the final call.

The meeting also addressed several complaints lodged against the Health and PWD departments.

The main agenda of the meeting was to come up with an action plan to construct a popular image for CPM in public. The ministers faced criticism during the discussion on a report prepared for the action plan. The report claimed that ministers are reluctant to take decisions regarding their own departments.

About 40 party leaders participated in the discussion and openly stated their opinion about the government. Further, it was suggested that government should check the activities of police.

"The behaviour of the police officers is troublesome, leading to several complaints. The public is not happy about this. Compared to the first Pinarayi government, the performance of the ministers is not that good."
