Cabinet meet cancelled due to lack of quorum
Thiruvananthapuram: The Cabinet meet called by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Friday was cancelled due to lack of quorum.
Only six minister came for the special cabinet meeting convened by the chief minister. 13 ministers did not attend the meeting, following which the meeting was cancelled due to lack of quorum.
Due to the development, the government was not able to reissue ordinances whose validity has expired.
Meanwhile, CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran said that there was nothing wrong in the cancellation of the Cabinet meet due to lack of quorum. The Cabinet meet was held the other day, he added.
However, Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala condemned the incident.
“Kerala has not faced such a plight before. The ministers are more interested in participating in party conferences and other things instead of involving in administration of the State. The ministers have proved that they do not have the eligibility to rule the State,” Chennithala said.
