Cabinet decides to revise pension of retired university staff

Thiruvananthapuram: The cabinet decided to revise the pension of the employees who retired from universities. Along with salary revision, pension revision also will be implemented with effect from July 1, 2019.

The revised pension will be disbursed from July 1 onwards. The part-time pensioners also will get pension on the same scale. The cabinet meet also decided to increase the pension age of the staff of Kerala State Handicapped Persons Welfare Corporation to 58 years.

The family of Kollam Pathanapuram native Najeera Mol who died after a lift collapsed in Thiruvananthapuram RCC will be given an ex-gratia of Rs 20 lakh, the cabinet meet decided.

Rs 3 lakh will be allotted from the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF) to P Praveen, the husband of Bindu who died due to medical negligence during childbirth at Chirayinkeezhu taluk hospital. He was earlier provided Rs 2 lakh.
