Cabinet assesses COVID resistance works; lockdown to be eased after knowing Centre's decision


It is expected that the Centre's decision will be informed on Monday or Tuesday. Following this, the cabinet decided to finalize the matters regarding lockdown only after this.

Thiruvananthapuram: The cabinet meeting convened to assess the situations in connection with the coronavirus outbreak has come to an end. The meet decided to ease the lockdown restrictions only after knowing the central government's decision. It also decided to convene an assembly meet on Wednesday.

It is expected that the Centre's decision will be informed on Monday or Tuesday. Following this, the cabinet decided to finalize the matters regarding lockdown only after this. An assessment of the present situation in connection with COVID-19 cases was done at the cabinet meet.

The ministers who are in charge of each district explained the condition of the respective districts. According to the general assumption in the cabinet, the situation in the state is under control. However, it is considered that travel restrictions need to be continued as virus infections were reported in China and other places.

Inter-district travelling will not be allowed at any cost. As the number of positive cases increases in the neighbouring states, Kerala need to be more cautious, the cabinet evaluated.
