Cabinet approves regularisation of temporary staff in Tourism Department and Nirmithi Kendra

Thiruvananthapuram: The state cabinet has regularised 90 temporary staff of the Tourism department. Employees with 10 years of experience have been made permanent in service.

Apart from this, the government has also decided to regularise 16 employees who have completed 10 years of service in Nirmithi Kendra. It is reported that the government has decided to regularise around 150 temporary staff.

The government stated that the regularisation was not made on posts that are appointed through PSCs and so there is nothing new in this decision.

The cabinet meeting also decided not to extend the last grade rank list. The meeting did not discuss the protests led by PSC applicants. The Chief Minister instructed to look into the issue of regularisation of temporary staff. The cabinet also instructed to examine whether temporary staff was regularised in any post that comes under PSC. The CM instructed various department heads to see no such appointments take place.
