Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala cabinet has decided to allot more seats for plus one course in the state. 20% of seats will be increased in districts of Thiruvananthapuram, Palakkad, Kasaragod, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Wayanad and Kannur.
As per the decision, Plus One seats for all subjects in the government and aided higher secondary schools will be increased in the academic year of 2021-22.
The decision was taken in the wake of the rise in the number of students who passed the SSLC examination. The state also received several requests to increase the number of seats available in the state.
Additionally, the cabinet has also approved the third instalment of the interest subsidy for the loan allocated to Kudumdshree members via the Resurgent Kerala Loan Scheme. With regard to this decision, Rs 75,12,91,693 will be sanctioned from the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund to the Kudumbshree executive director for the year.
A uniform information system will be established to bring various services in the state under one roof. It will be a centralized public platform for identifying and selecting the beneficiaries of all social welfare schemes in the state.
In addition, an ordinance will be rolled out to set up District / State Grievance Redressal Committees to address investor grievances and other complaints in a timely manner. A recommendation will be submitted to the Governor in this regard.
