Thiruvananthapuram: In a historic move, the cabinet meeting on Wednesday decided to create 3,151 new posts on Wednesday. Out of them, 3,000 are in the health department.
The news posts include 1,217 in Health Services, 527 in Health Education Department, 772 in Kannur Medical College, 33 in Malabar Cancer Center, 300 in Ayush Department and 151 in other departments. The sections and establishments belonging to Health, Health Education and Ayush departments to which the appointments will be made, will be decided later.
The cabinet has also decided to create 151 new posts in 35 higher secondary schools and 111 new posts in Soil Conservation Department. With this, 3,151 unemployed will get jobs through PSC.
Health Minister K. K. Shailaja said that the present LDF government has created 10,272 posts in the health sector so far.
