CAB: Kanthapuram against Tuesday's hartal; Youth League also disowns
Kozhikode: Kanthapuram A P Aboobacker Musliyar expressed his displeasure with the hartal announced on Tuesday by some organisations in protest over the Citizenship (Amendment) Act. He told Mathrubhumi News that he thinks the hartal on Tuesday is unnecessary and that the announcement of the hartal was made in haste.
“Now it is not time for a hartal. It will only serve to intensify enmity. The Citizenship (Amendment) Act is not only against Muslims but against the constitution itself,” Kanthapuram made it clear.
Kanthapuram A P Aboobacker Musliyar had also opined at the AYS Citizen Rights conference held in Malappuram the other day that no one should cooperate with the hartal on Tuesday. He had also said that people should not lead the land into chaos by conducting hartals.
Meanwhile, Kasaragod District Police Chief made it clear the other day that the hartal is illegal as no organisation had given notice in this regard. Youth League also clarified that they have no connection with the hartal. State President Panakkad Munavvar Ali Shihab Thangal put up a Facebook post requesting the party workers not to take part in the hartal or its campaigns.
