CAA won't be implemented in Cong-ruled states: KC Venugopal
Alappuzha: AICC general secretary KC Venugopal hit out against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) saying that it will not be implemented in any of the five states where Congress is in power. It will not be implemented in Maharashtra as well, where Congress is part of the coalition government. Venugopal said that the decision regarding this has already been taken by Congress chief Sonia Gandhi.
Venugopal also said that Rahul Gandhi will lead the battle against the act that seeks to divide the public on the basis of caste and religion. The fight against this act will go on until the fall of even the last Congressman. Congress’ battle is receiving nation-wide support from various parties that share same ideology on the subject. Speaking about issues in the state, Venugopal said that he does not have anything to say other than what the KPCC chief already said.
KC Venugopal along with 78 congress workers were arrested and later released after they took part in a Constitution Protection strike organised in front of Alappuzha BSNL office.
