Bypolls: LDF to field C.H. Kunjambu in Manjeswaram

Kasaragod: CPM state committee member C.H. Kunjambu will be the Left Democratic Front (LDF) candidate in Manjeswaram.

The CPM district secretariat on Wednesday nominated Kunjambu as the candidate for the assembly poll. The official announcement will be made on Friday.

A native of Manjeswaram, Kunjambu is a former MLA. The CPM calculates that his influence and popularity in the constituency will help them win the election. CPM leaders also calculate that by announcing Kunjambu as their candidate, they can take advantage of the confusion in IUML regarding the bypoll candidate.

Kunjambu had defeated IUML candidate Cherkalam Abdullah in 2006. CPM hopes that Kunjambu can taste victory this time also.
