Siddique, Accused Shibili and Farhana

Kozhikode/Palakkad: Police have traced the car owned by Tirur businessman Siddique, whose body was recovered from Attappady on Friday. The Honda City car was found abandoned in Cheruthuruthy, Thrissur. Reportedly, the accused used this car for shifting the body after the gruesome murder.

According to reports, the accused dumped the body in a gorge beneath a hairpin curve on Attappady Ghat road and abandoned the car. Following this, they reportedly boarded a train from Shoranur and fled to Chennai.

Meanwhile, the police have taken three people namely Shibili, Farhana, and Ashik into custody in connection with the murder. In addition, reports are hinting that Farhana’s brother has also been taken into custody.

According to police findings, Siddique, who was missing since May 18, was killed inside a hotel room in Eranhipalam. Later, it came to light that Rs 2 lakh was withdrawn from Siddique’s bank account. His relatives found the developments fishy and lodged a complaint with the police and the subsequent probe unveiled the murder.

The accused fled but were nabbed following an investigation based on Siddique’s mobile network activity and CCTV footage from various regions. Certain statements by witnesses also proved to be crucial.

Shibili and Farhana were nabbed from Chennai. It is learnt that they will be brought to Tirur by Friday evening. Following this, they will be subject to detailed interrogation.
