Kozhikode: Police have recovered two trolley bags with the lifeless body of a Tirur native businessman Siddique from a gorge beneath the 9th harpin curve on Attappady ghat road. Malappuram superintendent of police Sooraj Das reported that the dead body which was stuffed inside the trolley bags was at least 7 days old.

Apart from the suspects Shibili (22) and Farhana (18), who were apprehended from Chennai, police took Farhana’s friend Ashik also under custody. He was nabbed from Palakkad. Police suspect that Ashik was present in the hotel room in Eranhipalam from where Siddique was murdered. According to police, he was aware of the location where the body was disposed.

Siddique had booked two rooms (G3 and G4) at De Casa Inn in Eranhipalam on May 18. The purpose was to accommodate both himself and the individuals who are now considered suspects. Police have obtained the CCTV footage showing the suspects leaving the hotel premises on May 19. The footage reveals them carrying trolley bags, which were later found to contain the deceased body.
