Businessman’s body stuffed in trolley bag, dumped on Attappady ghat road; two arrested

Kozhikode: Two youth were apprehended for the alleged murder of a businessman and disposing of his body on Attappady ghat road. The victim, Siddique, 58 and hailing from Tirur, operated a hotel in Olavanna, Kozhikode. The suspects, identified as Shibili (22) and Farhana (18), were the staff at Siddique’s hotel. Police apprehended them in Chennai, and they are currently in police custody.

Siddique would typically return to his hometown within a week whenever he visited Kozhikode. However, this time he failed to come back as scheduled, and his mobile phone became unresponsive. Concerned about his well-being, Siddique's family filed a missing complaint two days ago.

According to reports, Siddique was murdered at a hotel in Eranhipalam on Tuesday. After the murder, the accused stuffed the body inside a trolley bag and dumped it on the Attappady ghat road. They soon fled to Chennai.

The suspects were nabbed following an investigation carried out by tracking their mobile phones. Police have launched a search to recover the body on the ghat road as per the statements of the suspects.
