Kottayam: A young businessman in Manganam alleged that a local CPM leader is trying to destroy his venture by threatening him and filing a fake complaint. Tony, the owner of Madapally tyre trading company, claimed that Biju PT, CPM Manganam local secretary and a member of Panchayat, threatened him and attacked his company staff on December 31. Earlier, a CCTV footage of Biju, and his gang, attacking Tony's staff came out.

"For the past three years, Biju was threatening me and filing false complaints. He filed a complaint to CM and State Pollution Control Board. Since the start, he was trying to create all sorts of problems," he said.

"On December 31 Biju verbally abused and manhandled the supervisor after stopping a truck that arrived at the company with materials. A group of 50 people chased the supervisor when tried to flee from the place. They attacked him using chairs and stones," he added.

"We obtained all licences as per the government's guidelines. Following the attack, we filed a complaint with the police," he said. He expressed hope that he would get justice on the matter.
Meanwhile, Biju alleged that the company is functioning illegally.
