Manjeri: Two private bus staff were arrested for reckless driving and threatening cops who questioned their action. The arrested were driver Jamshad Ali (33) of 'Fantastic' bus conducting service on the Manjeri-Kozhikode route and Shibin (36), a Melangadi native.

The incident leading to their arrest happened in Pattarkulam near Manjeri on Saturday evening. Police stopped the bus driven by the accused for reckless driving. However, the accused argued with the police and threatened them. Police said that Jamshad Ali was booked earlier for smuggling brown sugar, sexual assault and attempt to murder cases. He was only released from prison a month ago.

Police seized the bus and informed that a report would be filed at RTO requesting to cancel the driving licence of Jamshad Ali.
