Kozhikode: A bus driver was arrested in connection to the suicide of a young woman in Kozhikode.
According to police, the Kozhikode native set herself ablaze on April 24, 2023, after facing threats from Sarath Lal, hailing from Nanmanda.
Sarath is said to have borrowed money from the woman, a frequent traveller on his bus, by earning her trust. However, he repeatedly threatened her when she demanded the money back.
The police zeroed in upon Sarath after examining the WhatsApp chats and mobile phone used by the woman.
