Thiruvananthapuram: The budget session of Kerala will commence on Monday with the policy address of governor Arif Mohammed Khan. The budget for the financial year 2023-24 will be presented and ratified during the Assembly session which will be conducted in two phases till March 30.
The Kerala government has decided to begin the budget session with the governor’s policy address as the tussles between both got eased.
The governor has approved the policy address speech submitted by the state government. The governor had expressed his dissent upon the content in the policy address speeches submitted earlier. Hence, the government revised them and prepared a speech which would not provoke the governor. Serious criticisms against the Centre have been omitted in the speech. However, the state government will demand the Centre to maintain a gentle approach regarding the financial matters.
