Budget combines popular face of LDF govt and its developmental approach, says Shreyams Kumar
Kozhikode: LJD state president MV Shreyams Kumar on Friday stated that the budget presented by Finance Minister Thomas Isaac combined the popular face of the present LDF government and its developmental approach.
The specialty of the budget is that it made a progressive approach towards all sectors of the state. It would accelerate development in Kerala. The budget will be reviewed as one of the best in history, he said in a statement.
The budget gives hope to the younger generation. More focus has been given for education sector and in creating employment opportunities. It also showcases Kerala’s journey and preparedness for the digital era. The move to convert our economy to a knowledge economy is totally new. The projects announced with an aim to financially empower women are results of great vision, Shreyams Kumar further stated.
The equal focus given in the budget for welfare and developmental schemes makes it realistic. The care shown to elderly people and the increased share of ration for poor are examples of it. The budget also remembers farmers and expatriates and their welfare. The importance given for electric vehicles points out the concern the state government has towards environment, he added.
Shreyams Kumar also said that the budget gives importance for comprehensive development of Wayanad district through the medical college project and revival project of coffee sector.
He also lauded the government decision to allocate Rs 5 crore to build memorial for late M P Veerendra Kumar MP in Kozhikode.
