Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the budget presented by Finance Minister KN Balagopal will set the ground for the development of the state. It has a practical approach on how to overcome the limitations without getting caught up in crises. The Chief Minister, on a Facebook post, said that the budget also shows how effectively a state government can function within the limited powers of the federal structure.
The budget aims to attain economic growth with an eco-friendly development plan. There is a clear proposal in the budget to improve the quality of higher education and expand the field of science and technology, he said.
The CM said that the idea of science parks is a part of enhancing effective research in the field and clubbing it with production.
Education, public health and decentralisation have been given prime importance. The budget also provides for the mission projects of the government. Also, this budget has made significant moves in improving the living standards in Kerala. In 25 years, Kerala will have living standards equal to that of developed countries, he said.
