BTech graduate booked for selling MDMA via Telegram app

Kochi: A youth was arrested for using a group of youngsters to sell drugs through the Telegram app. Aroor Pallikkadavil Parampil Harikrishnan (24) was arrested by the Excise Special Squad and Ernakulam City Excise Range. Five grams of MDMA were recovered. Harikrishnan is a BTech graduate.


MDMA was bought from Bengaluru and the polythene packet containing the drug was safely kept hidden at pocket roads of the town. The location was forwarded via the Telegram account of the buyers. The transfers were made using different phone numbers, different Telegram IDs and vehicles.

The agent will be paid a commission of Rs 1,000 for selling one gram of MDMA. He was arrested following a tip-off from the shadow police team. Shadow police received information that he has kept a sachet of MDMA in the south of the Chalikavattam Kuzhuveli temple. He tried to attack the police and escape.

A few of the boys who bought drugs from him were nabbed recently but none of them had seen his face. Harikrishnan was arrested after a long investigation following the information provided by them.
