Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan informed in his press conference on Friday that BSNL broadband service will be given free of cost for a month to facilitate work from home. 5 GB data will be provided as part of this service. The plan will be available for broadband, landline users and also for those who take new connections. Pinarayi Vijayan said that he was informed about this by the BSNL Chief General Manager .
CM also informed the arrival of the first batch of Rapid RT PCR kits in Thiruvananthapuram, which was initiated by Shashi Tharoor MP. 1000 kits arrived in the first batch. 2000 kits will reach on Sunday. With this, the test result of COVID-19 suspected patients will available in just two and half hours. As of now, test results take nearly six to seven hours to come out.
Shashi Tharoor MP also declared that 250 splash thermometers, 9000 personal protective equipments would also be brought apart from the test kits. Chief Minister appreciated the effort of the Thiruvannanthapuram MP for taking positive steps by utilizing the MP fund.
CM also informed that Panakkad Sayyid Sadiqali Thangal conveyed his willingness to provide around 100 ambulances, that come under Shihab Thangal charitable committee and CH centres, for corona prevention activities in the state.
