Bribe for MBBS seat: ED to quiz CPM leader
Kozhikode: Following the interrogation of Congress leader Aryadan Shoukath, Enforcement Directorate will summon CPM Nilambur area committee secretary E Padmakshan over the alleged MBBS seat bribe case. He will be interrogated at the ED office in Kozhikode.
ED will question Padmakshan over the financial transactions related to receiving bribe on MBBS seats in the institution under Mary Matha Educational Trust. It is hinted that the CPM leader was summoned as per the statement of trust chairman Sibi Valayail, accused in the case.
ED is probing on Padmakshan’s links with the trust which is involved in the cheating. On Wednesday, ED also questioned Aryadan Shoukath based on Sibi’ s statement. He was grilled for around 10 hours at the ED office in Kozhikode.
Sibi Valayil was booked for swindling money from people in the name of giving seats for medical and engineering courses.
The officials have no clue on how Sibi spend the money which was allegedly collected by offering engineering and medical seats. Hence, the Enforcement Directorate has started interrogating people who have links with him.
