Kollam: Former minister Shibu Baby John opined that the central government’s avoidance and the state government’s lack of action has contributed to a reduced share for the state in this year’s union budget. He also said that earlier governments had effectively put forth the demands of the state.
In his Facebook post, Shibu Baby John said that former chief ministers had exerted pressure on the respective finance ministers and got their demands met. However, there were no such action from the part of the present government. There is no information whether the chief minister or the finance minister made any attempt to hold talks with the central government, he said.
He also alleged that despite appointing someone with a cabinet rank and a huge salary in Delhi , he has not been able to communicate about the needs of Kerala to the centre and get it done.
