Kottayam: The body of a woman who jumped into the Muvattupuzha river in Vaikom along with another woman was recovered on Monday. The woman’s body was found near Panavally Udupuzha area at Poochakkal on Monday morning. The search is still continuing for the other woman.
The two women jumped into the river from Vaikom Murinjapuzha bridge on Saturday night. The natives informed the police immediately.
Scuba divers and others searched for the duo on Saturday night and Sunday. But they failed to find the duo. Amidst this, police recovered the sandals and kerchief of a woman from the Murinjapuzha bridge.
According to police, the two women who went missing from Chadayamangalam on November 13 jumped into the river. Relatives of one among the missing women have identified the sandals which was recovered from the bridge.
