Kollam: A woman committed suicide by jumping into the Ashamudi lake with her 3-year-old baby at Kundara here. Her body was recovered later. Search operation for the baby is continuing.
The lady identified as Perinad native Rakhi jumped to the backwater with her baby Aadi. She jumped at the Vellimon spot in Kundara on Monday by 10 in the morning.
Rakhi's body was recovered in a search operation conducted by the locals and fire force. As per primary reports, family issues led to the suicide attempt. The police is investigating into the incident.
